when you try to jump the starter with the screw driver is your key in the on or start position. if not the starter will turn the engine over but the ignition will not fire every time

The starter works by jumping the hot lead on the solenoid to a small solder joint just below it on the starter. The plugs fire, but nothing after that. The gas is fine, and the ether was even better, but still nothing...Greg
