draining the old guiness. Ill have to look at it more closly.

Scott,

The welds are on top. Your dash will cover them. I've never had a lock
washer on any of my bikes.

Once a VeeDubber always a VeeDubber. I was just installing new bearings
in the front end last nite. Uded one of my BIG metric ones but never
paid attention to the size...

I got a question for u. Im putting the front end back on after getting
the triple tree and upper plate powder coated. I cant remember if the
top plate goes on with welds exposed up or down. I believe its up from
crummy manual pix. but then my lock washer under the center yoke shaft
hold down does not want to fit in smoothly...unless there is just a bit
too much powder coat built up there.

thank

Hi,
Was installing new races in the wheels tonight and discovered that a
36mm socket (rear axle nut on older VW's) is a perfect fit for seating
races without getting stuck in the hub. Someday I'll buy a press.
