After rebuilding my Ambassador, I decided the next step was a 5 speed tranny. The (then) local dealer had a Moto Guzzi T model that he had been holding for non-payment of a repair bill for a long time. After sorting thru the legal aspects of ownership, I and another Guzzi rider were allowed to part the T out. I took the trany and installed it in my Amabassador. I quickly realized something was really wrong as it wouldn't pull away from a stop sign without major clutch slipping. Consulting "Guzziology" showed the problem with gear ratios so I made a quick trip back to the dealer and got the final drive from the junked T. After instllation of this, all was (and is) well.
