1) Try a new plug in the left cylinder.

2) Look at/clean the inside contact surface where the left plug wire
plugs into the dist. cap.

3) Replace the left plug cap and/or wire or renew the connection
between the two.

4) Make sure the vent hole in the left carb is not plugged.

5) Check for a sunken/maladjusted float.

6) Call Mark Etheridge

The carb slides and accelerator plungers are installed correctly. Any
other
ideas?

Thanks Jason,

Did you put the square slide in backwards? Long end towards cylinder
(I
think). This will cause an overly rich mixture.

Another thing to look at is the plunger inside the accelerator pump.
It's
easy to put it in upside down, and if so done, the cylindewr will run
very
poorly.

How do I know for sure if my problem is caused by bad valves? Is
there any kind of test I can do? Should I remove the head and visually

After having some similar symptomss, I found that my left side
valves
and guides both needed replacing. I have 50,000 miles on an 850.
It
needs a
starter relay now, before I will really know if that problem is
really fixed.

1. Left side plug fouls out all of the time.
2. When the engine is started and both cylinders are firing - I
pulled up
on the throttle cable on the right side the engine revved as
expected. When I
tried the same thing on the left cylinder the motor bogs down and
does not
rev up. What could be causing this?

Thanks,
