Oops, I should probably note this is a 74 Eldo police.

Hello everyone.

I did a jury rig repair of the forward layshaft nut which had chewed
through the transmission case. After I reinstalled my transmission, it
seems to shift fine when on the center stand, but when I ride it, it
makes a grinding noise when I try to shift (as it passes through
neutral), or even just moving from first into neutral and coasting. The
sound isn't constant, just every few seconds. The other symptom is the
neutral light now stays on constantly. Anybody got any ideas?

Thanks, -tom
