Hi Steve,

I had exactly the same experience as you getting those things onto the
guzzi header pipes...none of the adapters was quite right. I do have an
old crusty set of large-opening pipes that I may drill out, paint with
some truck bed-liner paint, and toss on there. I like the sound of the
Dunstall replicas, but I've got to get them up higher and more
inward...which will require way too much work in the end, I think.

 Greg,
I have a set of those JC dunstalls I got on ebay. My ambo when I got it
had some of the ZX028538R 12" "shorty's" on it. I live in an old
mining town and the downtown streets are very narrow. When I would
crank it up it would set the car alarm off on almost every car I drove
by. Looked inside and they were just empty cans. the dunstalls
"civilized" it enough I didn't get dirty looks from every senior citizen
I went by. (on the other hands kids no longer follow me like the pied
piper wanting to know "what kind of bike is that") The only thing I
didn't like about them is that none of the "adapters" seemed to make
them fit the guzzi headers quite right which I solved with some exhaust
tape, and they hang too low and wide. got part of that cured but if you
come up with any way to get them to ride as high as the guzzi OEM muffs
I'd sure like to hear about it. Wish I was able to head down to Daytona
to see all the cool action but maybe next year when the bikes are more
solid and I am more solvent. At least the sun's been out here,
unfortunately for my projects I now would rather ride in my spare time
than wrench. Especially as it seems from your post about the garage it
might be safer as well as more fun.

So many guzzi's
so little time
so little money

Steve
