Screw in a couple of drywall screws into the seal. Use them to pull the
seal out with a pair of pliers or ViceGrips.

They can certainly get wedged in there pretty good. In the one a did a
couple weeks ago, I pulled with one of these seal pulling levers (the
kind with the two hooks on each end. Worked well for me. Best of luck.

replacing seals. Can't seem to get the rear output shaft
seal out, although I did find the hidden spring in the
channel when I ripped the underside rubber trying to
remove it - oops. The replacement (blue) seems to have a
softer "rim" than the one in the tranny. Any tips?
