Amazing how something so easy can take so freaking long to do. Spent a
good amount of time wiring up the Wixom lights today. Indeed as Charlie
mentioned, the bulb is only 1 filament, so I opted to wire them up as
running lights. Drilled a hole through the light assy into the bag, ran
the wires (hot line and ground wire) through some shrink wrap stuff,
then drilled a hole in the side of the bag just below the mounting
bracket. Wired up a quick disconnect to that end, then wired up the
opposite end disconnect. Ran those wires through some shrink tubing,
then through the little hole in the rear fender where blinkers are
supposed to mount, then ran the wires up into the tail light housing
with the current running light/brake light wires. I opted to just use a
tap in connector so I didn't have to cut the current running light wire.
So I used a tap in connector to connect one bag to the current running
light hot wire, then tapped this new hot wire for the bag to the other
bag hot wire to get juice to it. Neatly taped it all up and stuffed it
all in the brake light housing cavity. I then used some U shaped
connector ends on the ground wires for the bag lights and mounted them
under the washer of the bottom most bolt on the brake light housing -
worked perfect and I knew it was good metal contact under there having
just cleaned it up for the brake light installation about a week or so
ago. On the other end of the ground wire, I used some connector ends
that fit onto screws/bolts, the round ones. I drilled a little hole in
the metal bar of the bag light housing that serve as a ground, and
screwed the ground wire to this metal bar. Turned the key on a voila, I
have running lights. Now I just gotta find that black duct tape that is
laying around here somewhere so I can tape the wires down inside the
bags....

Thanx to all for the advice and inputs.
