Hi Greg,
Depending on what general direction you're heading initially, I'd
suggest riding WV/VA250 - particularly the section from Huttonsville, WV
to Churchville, VA. Fantastic twisties and great scenery (if you get a
chance to see it). VA250 will take you into Staunton and easy access to
the BRP from there.

What day are you planning on leaving the rally? I usually leave Sunday
morning and go down (at least some of) 250 on my way to Arbovale, WV and
stay the night at Boyer's Station Motel & Restaurant for the night. The
Mountaineer BMW Rally (think that's correct) is usally held there over
Memorial Day weekend and it's kinda' cool to hang out with them a bit.
The big reason I stay there is it's the closest place to Cass Scenic RR
- if you are even remotely interested in steams trains you gotta' check
it out. Some of the best views on the excursion in all of WV in my
opinion. Maybe they'll even be running the Heisler which is sort of a
gigantic steam powered Guzzi! Monsterous 90* v-twin, with shaft-drive.
Green Bank NRAO is nearby also with their 300+ ft. high radio telescope.

After that I try to take a different route home every year. Haven't been
over 250 to Monterey then up 220 for a while, maybe this year. If you or
anyone else would like to ride along with me that would be great. Maybe
a mini Loop Group Ride? If you'd like more info. on the area, I can
send/post a few links that will help. Need sleep now, though. Cheers,

I just sent my registration for the National in today. I won't haul beer

up from Tampa, but I'll pick up some in West Virginia. There's probably
moonshine to be had in the backwoods, too. Might be fun to try. Might
also increase the mileage in the Ambo, too. Hmmmmm :>

I've not ridden in this area of the country before, but I'm planning to
spend some time on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Any suggestions other than
just letting my curiousity get me lost?
