My dad was 64 when he bought his Eldo new in 1973. He had a 2x4 about 15" long that he put against the bottom of the center stand and held the other end with his left foot. This way he could stand a little farther back and the bike just rolled back onto the stand as he lifted it. Haven't tried this with my Eldo yet as it is in storage until my new garage/shop is finished.
