Hi, Neil. I was able to make the change using a 22mm
(if I remember correctly) crescent/box end wrench,
without removing any other parts. It was easy, and I
am REAL happy that it was no a more serious problem!

OTOH, on Wednesday I noticed a puddle of oil under the
Ambassador's left fork. Nope, not leaking at the drain
plug, but at the seal. Guess what I'll be doing... I
replaced the fork seals back in '98, and only have
~25,000 miles on them, but have only changed the oil
once or twice during that time. I thought the seals
would last longer. Any feedback on fork seal
longevity, anyone?

"glad you got that sorted out... by the way did you
manage to fit a new
one without removing the generator mounting bracket??
I've just changed
my oil px switch and it was a bit awkward to get at..
Neil."
