AJ,

As far as I know, the tanks all had the same neck size. The earlier
tanks had lower necks than the later models, think the change was in
1968-1969 time frame. Check your filler neck. There should be a flat
spot on one side, either the side facing the speedo, or the side facing
the seat. That is where the snap ring sits. The handle can be
assembled to either point down towards the seat or up towards the speedo
also. I have mine pointing down towards the seat - like the look but
Gre Fields book said the can castrate the rider in accidents ;(

I've got one but it doesn't fit my tank. How can that be? Is the filler
neck on the tank removable/interchangable with a smaller diameter one?
Would love to use mine for that classic look.

Think I mentioned that on the board quite some time ago. Also recall
that Mark E (MG Classics) sells re-chromes for $50, or he can re-chrome
yours or trade yours for a re-chrome + cash (which is what I did).

This may be old news to everyone but I just found it out. Guzzino.com
carries the lever type gas caps for $60 and they said they have them in
stock. I bid on one on ebay and it went for mored than that. Had I
known. Shiney Mike, 72 Eldo.
