How did you end up doing in the race? (I had to leave at noon).

As you know, I chose not to race in the pouring rain on Saturday. It
rained Sunday morning but the track dried up in time for my race. I was
gridded on the fourth row, so I had quite a few bikes in front of me. I
got an ok start, the Norton gridded next to me beat me to turn one &
held me up a bit through the turn, I got around his outside on turn
three. Passed a couple of bikes in the first two laps before the race
was red flagged. We had to wait on the hot grid in the blazing sun while
the ambulance picked up a downed rider. The race was restarted from our
original grid position for a five lap sprint, which meant I was going to
have to work my way around the same people for a second time. Got a
little better start the second time, passed a few people & ended up
circling the track pretty much by myself, well ahead of the next person
behind me but to far behind the couple of guys ahead of me to catch
them. Ended up in 7th place out of 18.

Now I've got to get working on the new motor & frame bracing. My corner
speed is as fast if not faster than a couple of guys that routinely beat
me. Its a little frustrating to watch them pull away from me in the
straights. I scared myself pretty good a couple of times trying to make
up time in the corners. Its a vicious cycle, everyone always wanting to
up the ante performance wise, but hey, that's racing & I want to get
these guys.
