Perhaps you need to contact Guzzi directly and Gabriella Stropeni is the
archivist at Mandello...a very nice and attractive lady.
J, Y AND x do not exist in the Italian alfabet but are sometimes used to
denote special items. Perhaps Maj is an abbreviation for Maggiorato
which means enlarged or bigger. May is Maggio. Guzzi did not outsource
to other countries. As usual the best is to ask at source hence Ms
Stropeni. Can't find her e mail but a search would bring up Guzzi's
site.
