Guzziesti,
A common problem with our older Guzzis is failing switch gear. This usually
leads to the search for upgraded parts to replace it.
I recently picked up a T3 for repair & resell with an "everything" switch on
the left handlebar so neat that I researched where it came from & ordered
one for my Eldo. The Eldo has a Suzuki switch with a turn signal portion
getting sloppy.
The new switch is made by K&S Technologies Inc., #12-0030, Universal Turn
Signal Switch. It has headlight on/off, hi/low beam. push to cancel
turnsignals, horn, & a Euro style trigger on the front for hi beam flash.
Only 1 7/8" wide & about 2" deep, it is set up w/25" of wire, about 16" out
to a compact 9 pin plug, the rest in leads to connect to the bike wiring
harness. The card it's packed on has a plug diagram on the back identifying
the function & wire color code of each pin. Combined w/the bike wiring
diagram installation should be a snap. The switch is DOT & SAE approved. It
appears well made (Taiwan) w/ typical Oriental construction inside & water
drain holes on the bottom, (unlike some recent Guzzi switch's!). Of course,
time will tell how well it holds up. The only possible problem I can see is
that the switches are compact & may be difficult to feel in heavy gloves. I
got mine from Gordon at MG Cycle. The cost was $58.95.
