Leg shields - Dan Brown (DB)
Moto Guzzi V700, V7 Special, Ambassador, 850 GT, 850 GT California, Eldorado, and 850 California Police models
Dan Brown (DB) leg shields were manufactured in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They've been unavailable for many years and a few years ago Bill Dudley had a local fabricator produce a limited run of fiberglass replicas. Charlie Mullendore of Antietam Classic Cycle shared his fitment and mounting ideas on the old Yahoo! Loopframe_Guzzi news group (which has now moved to Groups.io). In Charlie's own words:
I've been pondering how to mount these over the last few weeks. Tried fitting them to the crashbars for the factory metal legshields, but the holes didn't line up. Tried to find the rubber covered clamps for 7⁄8 inch diameter tube locally, without success.
Browsing the electrical department in Lowes, I found 3⁄4 inchOne Hole Strapsfor EMT tubing. They fit perfectly around the crashbar, are zinc-plated and cheap for a bag of 20. I used three on each legshield and isolated the shield with rubber washers. Now all I have to do is get the shields painted and I'll be ready for cold weather riding!
