The shift shaft is the shaft to which the shift pedal is connected. Thanks to Charlie Mullendore of Antietam Classic Cycle for providing the following data.
V700 (four-speed transmission & right side shift)

- 156 mm from the end to the inside of the flange
Ambassador (four-speed transmission & left side shift)

- 25 mm long where it goes into the transmission casting
- 144 mm from the inside of the arm to the outside of the flange
- The portion that goes through the bushing in the footpeg is 40 mm long
- 209 mm overall
850 GT (five-speed transmission & right side shift)
