Thanks to Steve Keohane for sending me this information in a private communication. Steve has not fit this altnerator, but believes the 1970's and 1980's BMW's used the same Bosch altnerator as the Moto Guzzis of the same era. If you've fit this alternator to a Moto Guzzi, please let me know.
