I use leather bags on Heather

The way I mounted them was to use the grab rails, and loop the leather over the
rail and attach it to itself with rivets, it works great, and will work the
same with a two up seat, the leather goes over the lower bar of the grab rail,
so the rail is still functional.

While I am looking around for a set of mint Wixom saddlebags for my Eldorado, I--
am thinking about getting some leather saddlebags for it. I don't recall seeing
any loopframe bike with saddlebags that was running the stock seat. Seems, from
my recollection, that I have only seen leather yolk-type saddlebags used on solo
seated bikes, so that they could be thrown over the rear frame rails & fender.
Can anyone enlighten me as to how these bags could be used with the stock seat?
Do you somehow lash them to the frame or rear grabrails, or simply place them
over the top of the passenger portion of the seat. It seems that with the
passenger grabrails and the height of the seat, that the bags would not properly
lay on the sides of the bike. Any info would be appreciated.
