Hi Rich,
Go with new ones. For the price they are well worth it. I changed them on my
Ambo and I haven't had a problem with them. One thing is to make sure that
the new taps don't interfere with your carb cables. I think that the 90
degree adapters are better.
By the way. I ordered my new petcocks from MI but I think that once you get
the thread size you could likely find the replacements locally.
Regards...Ian

On a related note from my last post, what is the collective wisdomthat
on the original petcocks? One of mine leaks a little. I pulled it apart and
the rubber gasket is starting to tear around one of the holes. Is everyone
replacing with newer style ones? Ordering the three hole gasket from MI
I hear sort of works or works for a while? Finding a sheet of Viton (or
similar) and punching out new gaskets? Or finding a set of used ones that
may or may not leak and spending large amounts of money on them?
Thanks,
Rich
