Hi Ian,
The "world record bike" is in Greg's book on pages 39 & 42. In Columbo's book
with fairing and without. Lots of standard looking pieces other than bodywork.
You're right about the displacement, we'd have to decrease either the stroke or
bore. Maybe V7Sport pistons? I haven't really looked into it that much. See ya',

Charlie,
You are not crazy my friend. Just so happens that the Loopframe Guru himself
was running that exact same idea just last summer. He had all the parts
ready to go. Just lacked time, and the right timing to unload all those
dotcom shares he had :-)
To be a true 750 class we would have to go with another engine since the
Ambo engine is 757cc I think. Isn't the V7 Sport engine under 750cc?
By the way...do you have a pic of the "world record" bike? Is it in Field's
book?
Regards...Ian

Hi Ian,
I think it's a Loopframe (or maybe I just want it to be). I was thinking of
doing a replica of Guzzi's "world record" bike of '69/'70, but that ideainvolve lots of cash. Instead I'll probably use more stock bodywork, somesortof "bumstop" seat and lighten the rest by leaving parts off without losingthecharacter of an Ambo. Love my old '69 Ambo but want something a bit morecould
sporting until I can afford the Laverda of my dreams.
Here's a question for my fellow Loopframers: why not a Loopframe Land Speed
Record bike? We could do some damage in the 750cc class! Handling or brakes
don't matter as much in this venue, an Ambo engine with the right workproduce as much power as a V7 Sport engine. Whatcha' think?project.
Probably almost as crazy as my diesel Ambo idea! :)
Night y'all,
Charlie

Hey Charlie,
When I saw the pic it looked like a V7 Sport. That's a Tonti frame right?
:-)
What are your plans for the LoopSport? Sounds like an interestingWhat is your plan?
Did you see the Convert Sport a guy did in one of the back issues of the
newsletter? If you can make a Convert look good you sure can make a Loop
look good :-)
