If its smokin' all the time, and the spark plug is black, check the choke
adjusment on the carb and see if its too tight, thus making the bike run
rich all the time.

I'm getting some black smoke at idle on the right hand side (no x-over)
I think the idle mixture is too rich? is the screw turned right to lean
the
mixture... I forget.
