I made a nifty tool to pull the fork tube thru the triple clamp. I got
a
used fork cap (threads into the fork tube). I filed off the hex so that
it
will pass thru the triple clamp. Then I tapped a 5/8" thread thru the
clamp.
Next I got a length of 5/8" all thread and a couple of nuts. A piece
of
pipe is fit over the 5/8" all thread, held between the 2 nuts, with room
to
slide the pipe up and down, as in impact wrench. Works like a shot and
absolutely cannot damage the threads.
