Ted,
I ran my Eldo without velocity stacks with K&N filters since the
filters would not go over the stacks. Then there was a thread on the
Guzzi list about how you should have them. I bought a spare set and
removed the obstruction that prevented the filters from sliding over
(used a hacksaw to hog off big sections and then a file to smooth it
out; other people have access to lathes to do the same job with more
finesse).

Seemed that the bike ran better with the stacks than before. But it
makes it even more difficult to remove/replace the filters with the
carbs attached to the motor; neither filter can be removed or replaced.
I've resorted to removing one carb from the engine to allow
removal/replacement of the filters.
