I went through a few switches and started looking for the cause. I found
the connections going into the fuse block were burnt and corroded. I
soldered new ends on the and cleaned the contacts on the fuse block and
have not had any trouble sense.

On the way home from VMD, I had another light switch bite the dust. The
headlight switch fried itself into the on position long ago, which is
fine,

Has anyone figured out a good replacement for these?

for what its worth, I bolted on a piece from a Kawasaki I found at the
salvage yard when I went to directional signals. This has the horn button
and
hi/lo lights and directional switch. I looked for something that would
pretty closely match the bike and period. I understand there is a Yamaha
switch that many Loopers like to use. Dont have the details any more.
Maybe
somebody else has the info.
