Dave, what kind of piston/cyl clearance do you run with these kits? I'm
assuming they were cast iron sleeves...

What I do is remove the metal rings(carefully) around the 1000 gasketsa
pushrod holes.Then assembly the top end in the usual matter.Be sure to use
gasket sealer such as permatex super 300.Not too much.Torque the heads indifferent
the proper pattern at 5lbs at a time to 32lbs.Let it sit for a day.Then
after 40 or 50 easy miles and 4 0r 5 complete heat up cool down
cycles,retorque the heads.Do this again at 200 mi. Others may have
opinions on this but I have done three 949cc Eldos.this way with no
problems. Dave
