I've heard good things about BMWs spline grease but haven't used it myself.

I'm in favor of aircraft paint stripper. Excellent paint remover, won't
harm aluminum, has a gel consistency so it'll adhere to vertical
surfaces, and rinses off with water, but you need to wear strong,
chemical resistant gloves for it is quite caustic. I get mine at auto
paint supply stores.

First, the owner of the bmw in my garage is getting some BMW Spline grease
this weekend to put his drive shaft back together (funny how close the R100
rear drive looks like the loop). Ironically, this weekend is when I hoped to
put my drive shaft in and rear wheel and drive on. Has any every used this
stuff? Should I use something else?

Second, does anyone have a paint stripper they recommend?
