Each style of needle has a diffrent diameter and taper which will change
the
amount of fuel passing through the carb into the engine at specific
heights
of the needle depending on throttle opening. Conversly raising or lowering
the needle in the slide by changing the clip will richen or lean out over
the entire range of the taper of the needle.
My Guzzi book shows a SV5 needle for the 850 and a SV5 or SV9 needle for
the
750
My Dellorto book does not have the the specs for those needles. I would
try
both and see which needle has the bike run the best looking for changes
above 1/4 to 3/8 and 3/4 throttle.
