Shawn,
Did you clean those regulator contacts. Open her up, there are little
contact on delicate springs. Inspect the contacts, if dirty clean with fine
emory paper. Keep the emory paper flat so you are sure you are cleaning in
a parrallel manner. Be sure to blow off the contacts and the whole
regulator with compressed air. Be careful you do not stress the springs.
Take your time. This may help. When you re-install your regulator be sure
it is grounded properly to the bike. Old Loops main electrical problems are
poor grounding. Bob

Subject: Charging Problems
I
Hi loopers,
Does anyone have a procedure for testing the generator and Vlt-regulator.
tried all of the tests suggested in Guzziology, but all was good. Mya
battery is new, but will not charge. Across the terminals I can only get
rise of 13volts when at 3000-3500 rpms. I think my problem is theregulator
and I would like to test it more before replacing. I had a Honda wherethe
regulator could be adjusted, but Guzziology does not say anything about
this.
Can anyone enlighten me?
Thanks a lot.
