Mike,
I took some pics of riders with their Loops. When I get the film developed
and permission to use the pics I shall do so. Will be good to finally meet
you in Birmingham. That will be a fun weekend.
By the way....we passed through Hiawassee on Friday...saw lots of Brit
bikes. Must have been a fun weekend there....nice area.
Regards...Ian

Great report Ian, wish I could have gotten away from the British Rally we
were working but the Redhead kept a close eye on me.....
The Kologiski Clan was there though so I got at least a little of my Guzzi
fix...
Anybody get any pictures I can post?
I'll be at Birmingham to watch Ken in Sept myself, see ya there!

Subject: Rally Report - longHey All,Friday
Just returned from the Blue Ridge Rally. What a great weekend! Although
there was a lot of rain getting to and from the rally the weather onafternoon thru Sunday morn was beautiful.people there.
I think there must have been about 10 Loops in attendence. If I remember
right Mark (one of the organizers) said there was about 100Always great to see Loops making a strong showing. Of course aLoop (FredSahms'Eldo) won People's Choice. One of these days they willrealize thatthey need to have a People's Choice that divides the bikes intocatagories.Loops will always win, in my opinion. The food
I was impressed with the campground. Very clean and neat. I am always
impressed when I see the owner cleaning the bathrooms at 630am.was much better than last year albeit a bit pricey. Worth it for thethe
convenience, since there isn't much close by.
On Saturday Ken Pitts lead about nine of us on a 100+ mile jaunt throughmountains...ending up at the Wheels Through Time museum inMaggie Valley.
Heeven had it timed so we would get there just as the Owner, Dale, startedhistour of the place. Very cool to listen to his stories aboutthe bikes andto hear the bikes run.machine) in
This year I decided to leave my old trusty 69 Ambo (my touringthe garage and take the 70 Ambo to her first rally. With only150 miles togo riding the bike without shield wouldn't be a problem. I could packlightand not be too tired. She never missed a beat on the 450 milejaunt...evenwhen riding through heavy rain on Sunday. The was impressedthat the stockhandle bars made for a great riding position in the twisties but alsoanother and I am
allowed for a comfortable riding position on the flats.
I now find myself in withdrawl. Rallies like that beg forlooking forward to the next. Won't be a Guzzi rally...rather Iam going tohead out to Birmingham,AL at the end of Sept to see Ken Pitts race andcheckout the Barber museum. If any Loopers want to put this ride ontheir "listto do" I would love to see some of you there.(who
Thanks to Barb and Mark who put on a great "must do rally", Charlie M.offered the other bed in the cabin), Ken Pitts for organizing andup
coordinating a safe and fun run through the mountains and to all who putwith my jabbering on in the evenings...after a few too many barley pops:-)
