Mix about one ounce of the silicate gel with about three ounces of
water. Apply to the cases with a cheap, natural bristle brush. Drive the
moisture off with a heat gun. After the cases cool, rub the cases down
with a soft cloth.

John, Getting ready to do the block on my latest loop project. I had read on the list the advice to use mag cleaner, and it worked well on my last transmission case. But the Sodium Silicate is new to me. Does this provide a finish for the bare aluminum? Do you have to let it dry before rinsing it off?
