Rich,
I've found the same thing - the float bowl nuts will sometimes be
slightly wet or if I haven't checked for awhile, coated with gasoline
"varnish". And the nuts have relatively new gaskets (5 years old?)
which are still pliable. I think that the nuts tend to loosen up enough
to allow some seepage and just need to be re-tightened periodically.

Loopers: The carbs on both my loops (an Ambo & an Eldo) leak or perhaps
more accurately ooze a little, mainly from the float bowl nuts. I
tighten them periodically (they almost always seem to be able to be
tightened a little), but the oozing/leaks persist. Obviously I don't
want to overtighten.

I'm thinking this is inherent to the carbs, but maybe not--anyone know
of any remedies?
