Hi Dale,

While rooting through my bits and parts,I wrote down my serial #'s if
anyone is collecting them.

My soon-to-be Ambo and yours are close! The one I'm purchasing from Darrell
is May '71 and 23959.

I have a set of Guzzi saddle bags I would like to learn the history
on.They are black plastic, rectangular, with a raised white Moto Guzzi
logo in block letters on the sides. They open like a lunch box on a piano
type hinge, except the seam is at a 45 degree angle on the sides. They
came with a load of parts when I bought the bike and the seller didn't
know anything about them. They also have rectangular holes in the back
and bottom, apparently for mounting, but there are no brackets with
it.Anyone have any ideas as to what year or model they are from?

I'd be about the last person I would expect to know about this but I just
happened to see a photo of an Eldo with the very same bags you describe.
I'd try the link to the photo here but it's one of those long ones and won't
work correctly. So to get there...it's at www.motoguzzishop.com, click on
"Gallery" at the left then click on "Guzzi Sightings" in the middle, then
scroll down under the first set of photos where the Drop Down Menu for the
page numbers are and choose Page 7. The photo is in the left hand column,
second from the top (DSCN0102).

Alternately I can email the photo to you or give you a link to my web site
where I can post it.
