I have heard several times, and also think it is
mentioned in Guzziology, that the factory determined
that the 750 block was not strong enough to handly the
extra torque of the 850 engine, and that is why the
Eldo block has so much more reinforcement. I have
heard that some Ambo blocks that have been turned into
850's and 1000's have not lasted. I personally
wouldn't take the risk - I'd look for a 850 or 1000
(or 1100) to stuff into the frame.
