Well, this list is not only informative on the subjects of Loops, but excellent source for relationship counseling!!!
Actually, Laura loves riding on the back with me, and I kinda like it that way too. When I first bought my Eldo, it had only an old hard rubber bicycle solo seat on it, which was only slightly better than sitting on an oak plank. For about a week or two, I bungie corded a little pillow on the back for Laura, then bolted a tiny pillion pad on in place of the pillow, one that was a left over from an old Sportster....the equivalent of riding on a leather covered brick, but she never complained, God bless her!! A little while later, I found an after market seat for the Eldo, a huge thing that looks like two solo seats mounted on a couch cushion....comfortable, but ugly as sin.
We have discussed her getting a bike, too, but I think that might be a little while down the road. I also take the kiddies for Eldo rides and want them to be comfortable as well. Judging from what I've read thus far, I think I will end up getting a seat from Mark along with the pillion pad to go with it.

PS....was the solution on the list for the "ex-wife" the reason that she became the "ex"?!?!?!?!?

Bill, I found the solution for my ex-wife and me was to put her on her
own bike. ...... She rode a V65SP and was very comfortable on it.
Added benefit almost twice the load carrying capacity, and a good
feeling of accomplishment for her. Obviously twice the expense for
bikes and such. But it worked for us.

I've tried it both ways. My wife tried her own bike for a couple years,
and finally said

"I'm not comfortable doing this. I don't feel 'coordinated' enough, and
I don't get a lot of pleasure out of it; I feel nervous all the time.
I'd rather ride with you."

This from a woman who mixed and hauled the mortar by hand for 1500 block
and 10,000 brick when we built our house, and who painted the gable ends
while standing on 6 stacked 6' scaffolding bucks with a 10' ladder
standing on top of them; scared me to death.

One of our friends who teaches a motorcycle safety course has noted that
one of his big problems lately is teaching women to ride bikes who
really don't want to ride bikes, but feel "pressured" into it, trying to
go along with the wishes of a husband or boyfriend. One lady in his
class recently fell over on her little 250 Suzuki and really hurt
herself.

Just a note to say....guys, make sure that you're listening to what
she's really saying, and I don't mean just the sounds she's making....us
guys need to tune our antennae up so we can catch the unspoken nuances
that normally blow right by us...

Lannis
