I was in SoCal too, and saw the nifty bobber.
It was an Ambo. No front fender, no rear loop, no rear fender. Leetle
tiny mufflers stuck onto the header pipes. Black paint on headlight,
tank and battery cover, with a very non agressive flame pinstiping on
the headlight and tank.
Only shiny thing was a really cool chrome spiked gascap.
