You are correct, Charlie, the 51 is too tall and will contact the side
covers.

If I dismember correctly, the 51 is a bit too tall. Think that's the one
I was checking out when at the AC Delco dealer. Length and width were
both spot on, though. Cheers,

Thanks Charlie. I'm going to head down to NTB (big Exide
dealer) tomorrow. The guys there have been very helpful
over the phone and they think the group 51 might work. I'm
going to have a look. I'll have them look up that part
number and compare.Charlie Mullendore <c.d.mul-@att.net> wrote:Hi Tom,
Andy might be talking about the YIX30L-BS. O.E. fitment
is actually
late-model HD FL series. Available also as a Yuasa/Exide
and others in
the same number. Cheers,

can't find the post in the topica archives. Since I
cannot seem to
find anyone who carries the AC Delco group 55 battery
Greg B
recommends, I need to find alternatives. The actual
available
dimensions would be a big help. I'm not at home atmoment - so I
can't just go out to the garage and measure. I am
however, bored on my
lunch hour and need a "guzzi" task :).
Thanks, -tom
