Hey Chuck,
Anytime, well not anytime, All my time outside of work is spent
wrenchin', chasing parts or working on the damn house to get it up for
sale. When not at the house I'm at my pal's garage right across 75.
You're more than welcome to stop by. Just get in touch off list.
Kev

darrell and kevin -

I'd love to ride over to your place one of these weekends,
Darrell...It's a nice ride from my neck of the woods to yours.

Kevin -

I was planning on mounting the tire backwards on the rear, too. Pusher
tires don't last for snot on a hack bike - I'm used to that. Have
spoons so's I can get the tire on-off-on pretty easy. Gotta have the
look of the WW's - it's a jones from when I had a '56 Chrysler. WW's
are da bomb - I'd put them on my Mach 1 but no one makes them in a
245/45/17. Be a trip to lay down a 12 second pass on wide whites...

Hey Darrell,
Yeah, I had the cheapo's on there. Maxxis WWW. Looked cool, didn't
last
worth crap. Only a few hundred miles and the tread was half gone.
Others
on the list have had decent reviews, Of course it's understood that
you
get what you pay for....Never quite know why one tire last longer than
another, could be riding style:-), might be just got a bum tire..Might
be that I had to mount the thing backwards...

If anyone knows any company that does make a front & rear, please
post.
I have not looked to see if Dunlop does. I'm doubtful.

Personally, I will kick out the few extra bucks for a Dunlop this
time.
I hate dealing with tires. The longer I go with out dealing with one
the
 better.

Hi Chuck,

It sounds like your Eldo is cleaning up nicely. It is amazing
sometimes
what a little elbow grease can do. Hopefully I'll get a chance to see
it
in person some time. Are you gonna make it to the Eurocycles open
house?
I'll most likely be there if I don't figure out how to wangle a trip
to
LA for the Laverda North American Rally.

Hopefully the Eldo feels a little stronger than your Dnepr with a
chair.
If not sumpthin' is prolly wrong! ;-)

The stock tire sizes are 4.00 - 18 front and rear (I think). You can
run
up to a 120/90-18 both front and rear, but a lot of guys (me included)
prefer the steering feel of the a skinnier 100/90-18 at least up
front.
The chunkier tires probably look a little better. I don't think there
is
a lot of choices in sizes when it comes to wide whites. Kev Graf was
running WW's on his Ambo before he bent it. I think the only 18" sizes
they offered were front tires, and the front tread didn't hold up well
on
the back of the bike. Chime in here, Kev.

Spent the past weekend (damned near all of it) detailing Giuseppe.

Got my tube of Wenol Thursday; started polishing Friday and I'm not
done
yet. Best method for cleaning is to use 4 aught (000) steel wool
with
Wenol 1st, then finish up with a Dremel buffing wheel and wenol.
Have
done the front wheel assembly, gen belt cover, and valve covers -
along
with all the chrome.

I'm almost outta polish, FWIW.

The bike is looking GREAT! Re-did my valve clearances and took
Giuseppe
out for an extended ride Sunday. I'm a little disappointed in the
HP
output; had hoped the bike had more beans. It's not bad, though;
about
as fast as a late model Mustang GT.

I really like the way it motors along at 60 MPH - feels like it
could
roll on forever.

I have a low rez pic (taken by a cell phone) if anyone is interested

 in
seeing one righteous Guzzi. Next step is to throw a set of wide
whites
on the bike - which brings up a question...

What size tire?
