I just finished replacing seals on my transmission, opened the
back cover and put the offset shift adjuster back in (I had
inadvertantly removed it) and slapped everything back together
with new seals.

When I got on it today the first thing I noticed was the
heel-toe shifter was way back, the front was very high the back
very low. Figured it is due to needing to adjust the offset
shift adjuster. I rode it a ways and everything seemed fine
until I shifted into fifth and got no bite, just a funny noise.
Someone please tell me all this can be corrected by adjusting
the offset adjuster bolt?

Then tell me how I can do that without removing the battery tray
again...
