Yeah, I figured that out after reading the later posts. That's
the problem with reading posts in chronological order. Well, at
least I don't have to worry about getting a new gasket :)

The gasket is NOT on the starter per se. The gasket we are
disussing is
on the back end of the BOSCH solenoid. The solenoid body is
metal. The
contacts are retained in a plastic cap at the rear of the
solenoid. The
gasket resides between the plastic cap and the solenoid body.
