Just got back from the Shreve meet, it was good to finally put a face to
Gary Cheek, Tom Bowes and Elizabeth. Got a lot of pics of some mighty
fine loopframes (and the aforementioned people), there were quite a few
of them there. I'll forward them on to Dave O to post somewhere on his
website.
While at the rally, some guy posted a notice about a '68 V700 for
sale for $1800. Says it has 8000 miles, the engine # was 18XX (can't
remember the last two digits).
I went to look at it, he bought it 3 years ago, never had it running,
it's been repainted, and he's taken some of the bits off to cad plate.
It's been in heated storage for the past 15 years, so it's not really
rusted out and seems to be 98% complete.Wixom bags and brackets. Early
remote bowl carbs. Wiring's been diddled with. I have no interest in the
bike but thought that it would make a nice project for someone out
there, don't see too many of them..
The guy's name is Bill Wiley, 330-867-7505, he's in Akron, OH. email
