Jack;
You had said you disassembled the bike, check polarity on the ignition coil.
If it is backwards that will cause a increase in the voltage needed to fire
the plugs. Also, I just saw this at work last week, If the coil is marginal
it may only fire to the one side. Check for a good connection at the coil.
You might try going to a import beer while attempting to solve this problem,
but I never heard of a italian beer.
