Just checked the Ural online catalog and solo seats were around $100. While
style seat do you use? (LOL - they actually have a model called the "Tractor
Seat") Thanks a lot for the suggestion. I'm 6'2" and sit toward the middle
of the dual seat on my Triumph. I really like the look of the solo seat on
the loop, but didn't want to have my knees in my throat.

Got any photos?

Thanks,
Chris

I have a Ural solo seat on mine. Came across the rider and passenger seats
pretty cheap. Everything from Guzzi seemed cheap and flimsy. Especially for
the price. Standing 6'4", the non sprung solo seat seemed to put my knees
around the front fender. The Ural seat sits high and gives the legroom I
need. I had to make a template out of wood for the plate that the seat
bolts
to. I then gave this to a pal and had him cut it out of stainless. So, in
the end the seat bolts to the plate, the plate bolts to the original mount
points on the frame. The added advantage of this was that I was able to
drill the holes in the plate to where I wanted the seat mounted. A 1/2 inch
either towards the frt or the rr of the bike makes all the difference in
the
world. With my long spider legs I naturally set it towards the rear of the
frame probably about an inch or so.
Sucks for someone else riding my machine, but nuts on them. What the hell
are they doing riding MY bike!

Has anyone used a non-motoguzzi solo seat on their loop? Dave Lubby's cool
700 has a HD Sportster seat with a modified mount. Any body have any other
suggestions for a solo seat?

Thanks,
Chris

The solo seat I got from Moto Guzzi Classics is marginally comfortable.
OK
for rides up to 5 hours. It is not the sprung seat, just the plain black
solo seat. Made very nicely and has a fiberglass or some type of
synthetic
pan, no rusting. I still like the original seat for touring comfort
though.
Seemed with the solo seat I felt more road shock. Less foam for
cushioning
 I
guess from the original two up seat. Would like to have tried the sprung
seat
but was $$$$ for my budget.
