Just a quick note that our beloved Loops are quite capable machines.
A friend of mine talked me into joining him at a US Desmo run track day at
Robeling Road Raceway this past Monday. I was a little concerned about running
the old bike along side modern Ducatis, Triumphs & a few Japanese bikes thrown
in. I have never had the opportunity to run the bike along side modern bikes,
so I had no idea how it would compare. I'm very happy to report the Guzzi not
only held its own but put on quite a showing. I was grinning from ear to ear
as I was able to pass Ducati Monsters, 748s, 999s, Triumphs Speed Triples,
etc.... In there defense, these were not racers, most were street bikes but all
the riders in our group had track experience.
I'm looking forward to my first race of the year, at Grattan Raceway in June.
