Well, as I mentioned once before I think, the clutch on my Eldo has gone
permanently goofy. When cold it works just fine, but if you have to
pull it in at a stop sign or light more than once in under 30 seconds or
so, you can "feel" the clutch plate suddenly warp and start dragging
real bad, so much that the bike won't idle, and will only keep running
if you gas it while holding the brake on, which is no mean trick with
one hand. THEN when you slowly let the clutch out to take off, it grabs
viciously and unless you're ready for it, it stalls. When it cools off
it's OK for a while, then does it again. Just about impossible in
traffic.

So the Eldo's been demoted to just commuting duties, since I only have
to stop twice in the 20 mile ride to work and I can snick it into
neutral before it grabs on me....

...and in the meantime I downloaded Jason Telford's photo essay on
changing the clutch (thanks Jason!), but upon mature reflection, I think
I'd rather go another way than the RAM clutch he installed. It's
lighter and thinner and gives you less "flywheel" effect - which is not
the way I want to go on my load-hauling highway cruiser. Slow to rev,
slow to slow down, long-lasting, and clunky to shift suits me just fine.

So given that, any alternate ideas on the best type and source of clutch
for the money to install on this machine?
