I would like to jack up the bike, using
the motocycle jack my staff gave me for christmas last year. It looks
like you would have to put the jack under the engine?

If you have a rollaround floor jack type bike lift like mine, I had a
welder friend make me a cradle that rests ontop/across the lifting part
of the jack. The cradle is square, the same width as the frame. on each
corner is a U-shaped holder that fits the Guzzi frame. This lifts the
bike using the frame, and not the beloved engine. MUCH sturdier/safer.

Just a little garage ingenuity!
