I'd have the cylinders sleeved.

I am helping a friend with his '72 Ambo and he is on a shoestring
budget- I am looking for a set of original cylinders in good shape-
maybe from a big bore conversion? The ones on his bike are peeling badly
and I am putting it back together for him- and he can't afford the $600
gilardoni set from MG- on the plus side I do have a set of new pistons
and rings (original size). I know it is not a great idea to use new
pistons with used cylinders, but if it can get him around for 10k miles
or so it would be great. I might have some bits and pieces to put
towards trade:

used good shape koni shocks from a v7sport
"" marzocchi shocks from a lemans1
a loop tank painted over chrome but very straight
