Credit: I scanned an original from my library and created the PDF file. This excellent guide was published by the Moto Guzzi National Owners Club (MGNOC) in 1973. Produced by Harry W. Harnden (Original Tips column editor for the MGNOC), the text was written by Michael S. Buchanan and the drawings were drawn by Shauna G. Buchanan. Approximately 200 copies were sold - at near cost - for USD $2.50, including postage. Harry gave the profit of approximately USD $35.00 back to the Moto Guzzi National Owners Club (MGNOC). Thanks to Harry W. Harnden for granting me permission to digitize this guide and make it available online.
Correction: Thanks to Dan Eberhardt for making me aware of the following error in this document. In Dan's own words and photos:
I recently discovered that the information given in the Shade Tree Mechanic manual regarding timing is not right and is opposite of what you set forth in Distributor Rotation (Advance vs Retard). I like the dwell method of setting my points so hopefully the 75 degrees of dwell angle is correct in this manual since it's the only place I can seem to find the recommended dwell angle for a Loop Frame?
