I use car type relays which aren't totally waterproof (few relays are) so
mount them somewhere out of the wet (battery area or better: headlamp
shell).
2 I've found lying around are:
Ring RLFK 20 12V
Lucas SRB 525
Any car spares shop should have similar. Just ask for 12V single pole,
normally open relay.

PS. I use 2 of these to switch headlight beams, takes current from flimsy
switches.
PPS The Lucas relay looks fairly waterproof.

Relay should not click until activated by horn button.
Sounds like you've wired the relay coil to the ignition & then wired the
horn straight through the switched contacts.
Relay should be wired as follows:
Wire from switched live (ie. wire that becomes live when ignition ison) to one side of relay coil and one of the switched contacts(technicallythe non moving side of the switch but not too important).
Other side of relay coil goes to horn button. other contact on button
hornto earth.
Other side of relay switched contact goes to horn. Other terminal on
livegoes to earth.
When horn button is pressed relay energises & shuts contacts sending
switchfeed to horn.too
You must use a "normally open" relay.

Tom,
Nice pics on the relay placement, but I have a question for you.
I am installing a pair of Fiamm horns on my Ambo as the stock unit isweak. I have aquired a Marelli relay to put in line between the
anythingandthe horns. It does work as I hooked it all up before screwing
"click"ontoignitionthe bike. One thing I noticed though is that when I turn on thekey, remember Ambos do not have start buttons, the relay makes a
thinksound like it is activated or something. Is this normal? I would
itwhenwould make a click when I hit the horn button but why does it click
Iregulator, turn on the bike? If this is normal that's OK with me just want your
opinion. Thanks for your time. Bob Hawkes
