Hi Joe,
Thanks for the info.! Maybe that's why I have a fuel line cross in my box of
parts with a bolt hole at the junction! I too have a breather like the one
described and always wonder what the threaded boss was for. Now I know! Cheers,

The threaded boss on top of the crankcase breather is for mounting the fuel
cross-over block. The cross-over block allows 1 petcock (either one) to feed
both carbs. I think this style breather was unique to early machines fitted
with the V700 tanks, which have their fuel petcocks mounted well forward on
the tanks compared to the petcock location on the fat Ambo/Eldo tanks.
